This intensive capacity-building institute focusses on feminist activist approaches to CEDAW, the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, alongside complementary international and regional human rights frameworks and mechanisms to support strategic advocacy and leadership capacities amongst women’s human rights defenders.  Innovative approaches to combatting intersectional discrimination against women in a context of backlash and processes to support cross-movement and cross-regional alliances will be explored with international women’s human rights defenders and leaders.   Join us!

We are pleased to announce that we have a limited number of full fellowships (tuition & travel) for women’s human rights defenders from the Eurasian region, funded by Open Society Foundations, as well as a number of tuition-only scholarships and discounts for qualified applicants.  Details below.

The program is transnational in focus, and women’s human rights defenders from around the world are encouraged to participate to promote knowledge-sharing and transnational solidarity-building!

2020 Program Information – CEDAW for Change Institute, Oxford:

The 2020 program will be held in the historic city of Oxford, at Somerville College of Oxford University and the Law School at Headington Hill Hall, Oxford Brookes University, in the United Kingdom.

Tuition Framework:

Tuition: $2000 USD/approx 1500 GBP (International/funded participant/waged)

Discounted tuition: $1500 USD/approx 1150 GBP (Underwaged/ supported by organizations with annual budget of $80,000 USD or less)

Program fees cover the cost of participation in the 4 week online learning and 1 week in-person capacity building program, as well as personalized feedback on post-training action plans.  Please note that all other expenses, including travel and accommodations, are separate from tuition and must be paid directly by program participants.
